The Time Traveler’s Wife

I’ve been doing a lot of reading these few weeks, mainly because its Ramadhan, and the fasting month is known to make time passed by slowly. And reading helps, especially when you have a good book in your hand. And boy, The Time Traveler’s Wife is one fine book.

The Time Traveller’s Wife is an epic love story. It tell us the story of Clare, who met her soulmate at the age of 6. While this is not exactly uncommon, since there are other people who are married to their fellow kindergartner, Clare’s soulmate at that time was an adult, and naked.

This is because he just traveled through time, and in this book, time travels doesn’t allow you to bring extra baggage, such as clothes.

The guy’s name is Henry, and he suffers from a genetic anomaly called Chrono Displacement, which basically means at any moment of his day, his body will jumps into the past, or the future for a brief moment without him being able to control it. His ‘ability’ seems to always visited Clare, throughout her life. From there it tells the story on how Clare and Henry’s relationship progress through time.

The book is written in a first person style, alternating between Henry and Claire.
